Neo users can now earn $GAS simply by using dApps, through Orbit, a new rewards feature on nDapp.org. The service tracks on-chain smart contract interactions automatically and distributes rewards proportionally, with no signup required. The first round is live and running now through Oct. 21, with a pool of 140 $GAS spread across four supported dApps.
The concept works similarly to credit card cashback: users spend at selected merchants and receive a portion of fees back at the end of the billing cycle. With Orbit, users interact with selected Neo contracts during a round, and at the end of the period they are eligible to claim $GAS rewards proportional to their activity.
Orbit represents the latest addition to nDapp’s expanding feature set, which already includes wallet management, swap integration, $GAS claiming, and voting tools. Where previous reward mechanisms in the Neo ecosystem have focused on token holding or governance participation, Orbit targets actual dApp usage.
How Orbit works
Orbit operates across three phases. During the participation phase, users interact with selected dApp contracts on Neo N3 MainNet as they normally would. All activity is monitored on-chain, and no registration is needed.
Once the participation phase ends, the claiming phase begins. Users visit nDapp.org, connect their wallet, and navigate to either the “Orbit” page or the “My Orbit Overview” on the “My Wallet” page to claim rewards. Each user’s share is proportional to their transactions on participating contracts. A user responsible for 10% of a round’s transactions receives 10% of that round’s reward allocation.
In the final phase, any unclaimed rewards are automatically distributed pro rata to users who did claim, at no additional cost. This ensures 100% of the reward pool reaches active participants every round.
First round dApps
The first round features four Neo N3 dApps, each with its own reward allocation:
- NeoFS (40 $GAS): depositing tokens into the NeoFS contract qualifies as valid activity.
- Neo Bridge (40 $GAS): deposits of tokens from Neo N3 to Neo X via the cross-chain bridge are counted.
- NeoNS (40 $GAS): domain registrations and renewals on the Neo Name Service qualify.
- World of Elements (20 $GAS): transfers of the Frankcoin token are counted.
During an active round, participating dApps are marked with an Orbit symbol on their nDapp listing, and the nDapp homepage displays a dedicated Orbit section. Users can track their activity and claim status through “My Wallet” at nDapp.org.
