Polymarket Makes a Remarkable Move for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and XRP! Time Limit Reduced to 5 Minutes!

While attention in Bitcoin and altcoins is focused on the FED decision today, Polymarket has released news regarding BTC, Ethereum, Solana, and $XRP.

Polymarket US announced that it will launch five-minute price direction prediction contracts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and $XRP on October 27, 2026. According to the announcement, the new product allows users in the US to take positions on whether the four crypto assets will rise or fall in the short term.

The contracts are based on whether the underlying crypto asset will remain above or below its starting level at the end of a five-minute timeframe. Instead of directly purchasing the underlying crypto asset, users buy contracts for the expected outcome. The contracts offer two possible outcomes: a rise or a fall. Winning positions are paid at $1 per contract, while losing positions are terminated without payment.

How Are Prices Determined?

According to the explanation, instead of using a single instantaneous price, the results are calculated by averaging the index observations taken in the last 60 seconds before closing. Accordingly, the CF Benchmarks Bitcoin Real-Time Index is used for Bitcoin; and the relevant dollar-based real-time indices are used for Ethereum, Solana, and $XRP. A closing price equal to the starting price is also considered an “up” result.

In this context, the method aims to reduce the impact of sudden price movements at the end of the term on the outcome. However, short time intervals, market volatility, and transaction costs pose significant risks for users.

Polymarket US had previously launched 15-minute cryptocurrency prediction markets. The introduction of five-minute contracts covering four assets expands the platform’s short-term prediction options. The US platform is operated by QCX LLC, separately from the international Polymarket service, and operates as a market overseen by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
