By cryptoadmin Coinbase has launched commission-free trading of nearly 4,000 US stocks for eligible UK users, the company said Thursday. The move makes it the first crypto-native trading platform to offer US equities in the UK.

The rollout comes after the company received authorization to provide investment services in the UK, allowing it to broaden its product suite beyond crypto. The approval clears the way for institutional and sophisticated investors to trade crypto, equity, and commodity derivatives, while retail customers will gain access to equities through the Coinbase platform.
The exchange said that users can trade commission-free with investments from as little as £1 through fractional shares, while managing stocks, crypto, and fiat assets in one application. Trades can be funded instantly using GBP or $USDC, and Coinbase One subscribers will receive uncapped rewards on $USDC holdings.
The launch advances Coinbase’s vision of becoming an “Everything Exchange” where users can trade any asset at any time and is expected to help encourage greater retail participation in US equities among UK investors.
