Cardano founder Charles HOSKINSON has revealed a major update regarding the role of Input Output Global (IOG) in developing the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem around Bitcoin (BTC). The update comes amid growing buzz around Bitcoin’s utility and recent partnerships between Cardano and Bitcoin. Charles Hoskinson, on his X social media account, said that Bitcoin DeFi is a critical roadmap that IOG will be implementing in 2025.
He said that to this end, he has set a goal for the team to have a meaningful Bitcoin 2025 demo by May 2025. The Cardano founder said that he will be partnering with Fair Gate Labs, a multi-party computing protocol, to achieve these goals. He said the partnership will also extend to community projects and wallets.
While there is no specific timeline to expect a minimum viable product (MVP), the Cardano founder said that there is a lot of work to be done. However, he expressed optimism about the opportunities ahead, adding that it was time to awaken the sleeping giant in Bitcoin. This latest update comes just weeks after Cardano signed a partnership with the BitcoinOS Bridge to bring DeFi to the forefront.
